Last mid winter up here in the high country of Colorado we had a situation that changed our lives at Timber Ridge Adventures. Our general manager (snowmobile tours) went on a solo run in search of fresh powder. Thinking he'd be gone for an hour or so he broke rule #1: Never leave without a radio. Being the powder hound, he was above tree line at 11,500 - 12,000 ft. and floating down through a ravine and misjudged a creek bed. He slammed into the other side at an unknown speed and immediately snapped his back. Laying there conscious and breathing but unable to movewaiting to die as he could see tours and even once our sno-cat go by, too far away to hear his cries for help. We realized something was wrong when the sun went down and no return of "John". All available guides took off in a worried search. Our most esteemed guide, Ted, was on the summit of North Sheep Mountain 12,500 ASL when he sees a blinking light that "lit up like a lighthouse". We find "John" with advanced hypothermia set in, broken back and bruised; we got him down. Spinal cord not severed, he spends the next few months in a cast and in the office till spring. Had he not had your light he surely would have perished. His thoughts as he lay there dying before we spotted him was "I laid there, had words with my Maker and asked Him how to be a better father for my kids." You and your company truly saved his life. Many of us guides now don't leave base without a Photon!
Thank you again for a fine product -Phil McFall
In
November 1996 I bought 20+ of the original photons. Some red and some yellow.
I gave them away as Christmas gifts to my family, many of whom live in southern
Colorado. About 6 months later, my father was shopping in the local supermarket
in the evening. A thunderstorm raged outside and suddenly, the power went out.
My father quickly retrieved his red photon light to guide him to the exit. On
the way he acquired several patrons that followed him. About half way to the exit
he saw a bright yellow light in the distance with several people behind it. They
too, were heading for the exit. Upon arriving at the exit, my father found that
the carrier of the bright yellow light was my brother in law with his yellow photon
light. There was lots of laughter at the meeting. They had helped several patrons
safely exit the building who otherwise would have had to feel their way out of
the building which was totally dark. Goes to show that a little light can go a
long way. -D. Britton
My wife and I were given two for Xmas presents. While in France this past
Xmas during the storm of the century, we were in a 200 year-old stone-walled framhouse
in rural France. The power was out for several days. The only light we had was
the Photon lights, and they really saved the vacation. It is amazing how well
they work when used to navigate around a dark house. We plan to give them as presents
to all our friends and relatives as they are incredible. -Phil Greif
I am a Storyteller, and have found a variety of interesting uses for these. I
tell a story (The Gift Story) where the "Great Spirit" creates a new life (Dragonfly).
When "He" blows into his cupped palms I light my blue Photon light and let the
light leak through my fingers, and palm the light. People are amazed. But the
greatest treat is to be telling stories to my 2.5 year old, and in the darkness
I'll light the lite, and he yell's "Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell!!!" These things are
just too much fun. -Rob Seutter
This
is one of the best lights I have ever come across! I do a lot of work with network
wiring and this light is really handy to use in place of a regular flashlight
in crawl spaces! The first one was turquoise, I am ordering an orange one now.
Keep up the good work! -Andy Soyster
I
ordered 2 blue Photon Micro Light II's recently for dancing at clubs and raves.
Many people use disposable glowsticks at these types of events - however, I've
managed to get circles of people watching me with these things, and I've had several
people ask me what I was using and where I got them. The only drawback I've found
is they go through batteries after only a few events (although a set of batteries
for both of them equals about what I would spend on glowsticks in the same amount
of time). I also found another use for them this past weekend - at a large event
(over 8000 people), it's quite easy to get seperated from the group you arrived
with. All they had to do was watch for the flashes of blue light. I HAVE seen
several people with the aqua and green microlights, but so far, none with blue
ones. -Sean Dunbar
I've
got lots of uses for the micro light. I am going to list a few for simplicity.
My 3 year
old son uses the green one in the back of the minivan to check out his toys and
do some light reading. It is bright enough for him, but does not bother the driver.
He also likes to swing it around on a longer lanyard to impress his friends with
a "laser" light show.
My wife and I use the turquoise one to check on our sleeping son at night. It
provides just enough light to see, but not disturb him.
On a recent trip a friend asked if I could check one of her teeth. I used the
white light to illuminate her mouth. She was impressed at how bright it was.
I give them to patients as a thanks for referrals. They love them.
Thanks
for a great product -Dr. Kurt
Hey
there, just thought I would drop you guys a line and tell you how great
I think the Photon Micro Light is. To make a long story short, I just
got locked in a room in an abandoned bank. Fortunately, I had this light
so I was not in complete darkness. I also had my cel phone so I could
call for help to get me out of there. =] I have had this thing
for a little over a week and it is definitely worth it. -Daniel Alvarez
Hi,
I've had my photon lights for over a year now, and I'm thrilled with it. I live
in the Florida Keys and as I like to say "We're at the end of a 100 mile extension
cord, and all that anyone has to do is trip over any part of it, and the lights
go out". My Photon lights always work. My Photon has been with me through Hurricane
Irene and Tropical Storm Harvey last year and it was indespensible. In my job
as systems coordinator for a 5-branch library system, I work on all kinds of stuff,
peering into dark cabinets, and my white Photon light has replaced my AA mini-mag
for almost all duties. I've given them as gifts (my brother and girlfriend are
as pleased with their lights as I am with mine) and after showing mine off, several
others at work have purchased lights too. Thanks for making a good product! -Eric Udell
Ravers,
Hate buying $2 glowsticks at raves? buy two Photons (red and blue are cool) and
play with 'em just like glowsticks. Great effect and it is way brighter than any
glowstick out there. -Retro
Can
I just say these Photon lights kick butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw a kid in a club
with two blue lights flashing around and I hade to know what they were. He told
me where I could buy some and I ran out the next day and bought two green one's.
I brought them to the club and tripped everyone out. I couldn't walk away without
showing people what they were. These lights put glow sticks to shame!!!!!!!I I
just printed all the info I could on these lights, I can't wait to order two of
every color. They are also excellent for the car when your interior light doesn't
work. These lights are extremely intense!!!!!!!!!!!! -Peter
I
have a white Photon II and a turquoise Photon II, and they are both brighter than
my keychain Maglite that uses a AAA battery--even when the battery in the Maglite
is new! The Photon II is smaller, lighter, brighter, and lasts many more hours
before changing the battery. You can't go wrong with the Photon II. I prefer to
use the Photon II on my keychain, with the nylon cord that comes with the lanyard,
but I removed the clip. I'm an optometrist, and I love lights, and I love the
Photon II so much that I bought six more white ones for gifts. It's a wonderful
product. -Duane
Hello,
I've taken my Photon Micro Light II on many occaisons of Boy Scouting. Originally
just my Turquoise, then a Yellow, and finally now a Red Photon II as well. After
amazing friends, companions, and leaders I proceeded to get my leaders one for
Christmas. They love it as much as I do. My original Turquoise light has gone
through a two week trip to France, a period of 2 months when I lost it, a trip
in the laundry, and many other occaisons when a poorly made product would have
broken! THESE ARE PHENOMENAL! -Alex Bramwell
Yesterday
I bought myself a blue photon light. I was quite amazed at how small it is and
the power of the thing. I think that this will definitely be the future of flash
lights. Thanks so much for the photon light! -A. Uemura
I
thought I might share what I think. Just a few words. My coworker showed me the
PHOTON and she will not go without it. I just received mine. It's the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -R. Kemp
We
found a good use for your Photon Light... we put it on our bows to shoot archery
with. We tape them to a wire and shine the light on our sights and it makes them
glow in a low light situation. We shoot out of a local archery shop in Apollo
PA which now carries your lights. They are being used by her staff shooters. Thanks
for your great product. -Don and Laurie Henry
I include
the Photon's as part of my stock in my Central Oregon and Quartzsite, Arizona
stores. The sales people in Quartzsite were very very skeptical about selling
a small "one bulb" keychain light for $16.00. They also stated that they see keychain
lights that are given away. After giving each one of them a Photon for use they
quickly warmed up. On the first day of the big RV show we sold over six units
in just one day. I love it so much that my stock status reports show that I have
58 units in stock when in fact there are only 24. I just love to give them away
to friends, customers and family. P.S. My bookkeeper was cc'd this note so she
can adjust the inventory. -Paul Israel, Owner Sunlight Solar. Redmond, Oregon.
I
am involved with K-9 search and rescue. I have used calume light sticks, but find
them difficult to attach to the dog. There are EL collars, but very expensive.
I have built an EL light to attach to the dog, but that was bulky. The last time
I was out working my dog I hooked the red photon to her shabrack and found this
to be quick and effective. Now I can have a small light attached to her and not
be a nuisance as she works a search problem. -D. Koonce
My
name is Keith Jones of Modern Electronics Satellite & Security. I have recently
bought one of you Photon II Micro-Lights (white) and I love them. My customers
love them too. In fact Every time I show someone I am asked about getting one
for them....I love the light so much that I would never do with out it. I use
it for Service work in the field as well as a back up light for spelunking. I
am constantly working behind and around TV's, VCR's, etc.. and the last thing
I want to carry around is some big bulky flashlight. In fact one day I was working
under a house and all of a sudden my regular flashlight went out and I didn't
have a clue as to what to do. I rolled over on my side and low and behold their
was that Photon Micro-Light. WHEW! That's all I could think. I was not left in
the dark by the Photon Micro-Light. Needless to say I made it out with plenty
of light to spare. Now that I have my Photon Micro-Light on my key chain I all
ways have a light handy. I have developed some head lamps that use white LED's
but they are not as easy to carry around as the photon light. The Photon is not
only a great back up but a great main light as well. -K. Jones
My
wife and I take a vacation trip to Switzerland every summer. Last summer we arrived
at our hotel quite late only to find that our room had been given to another couple.
However, they had booked us into a less expensive, less equipped hotel down the
street. The hallway was very dark, pitch black in fact. The Photon was in my pocket
attached to the keyring of my Swiss Army Knife. I whipped it out and found the
room. I simply would not have been able to navigate that dark hallway and find
our room if I had not had the Photon with me. I've purchased several, but the
new Photon II with the white beam is my favorite. Very bright, and the on/off
switch is a great improvement! I always have a Photon in the watch pocket of my
jeans. -Will
I
love my yellow Photon II. It is the most useful light I own. Everyone in my family
now has one. I carry my Photon II everywhere, by slipping the key ring over the
shirt button, and then finish buttoning the shirt. The Photon II is hidden behind
the front fabric of the shirt, but readily accessible. I find that the second
or third button down from the top of the shirt works best. By always having the
Photon II with me, it has saved me and others from many problems when there was
suddenly no light where we were working. -Boyd
Hi,
Just wanted to compliment you on your Photon Micro-Light 2 which I ordered a few
weeks back from C.Crane Company. I've ordered several radios, flashlights and
other odds and ends from them over the years, but of all items I've collected,
this tiny light of yours has got to be the most useful, fascinating item to date.
I've only had it a for a short while, but already, I can't imagine how I managed
before without it. I'm just about night blind anyway and this Micro-Light has
made life so much easier. I'm going to order several more for my wife, daughter
and other relatives...plus a few more for me of course. Anyway, just had to say
thanks for producing and selling this light which I appreciate so much. -D. Burdic
I unveiled
my Photon 2 at my church's night barbeque and while everyone was amazed by the
brightness of the beam coming from the tiny flashlight, the Photon 2 really came
in useful when checking the doneness of the grilled chicken wings. The white light
enable me to determine if they were fully cooked from the degree of browning;
something that might be hard to do with a conventional yellow incandescent flashlight
beam. -K. Chan, Singapore
Two
evenings ago we attended our 9 year old son's holiday school program. The multi
purpose room was large, dark and crowded. When his class entered the stage I identified
our location and sent our son a friendly wave by holding my hand in the air and
giving a few discreet flashes of the red photon light. Sure enough, after the
program, he confirmed receiving the message. -J. Henderson
I
am firmly convinced that no fly fisher should be without a Photon Micro-Light.
No I am not a night fisherman, but I do fish at dusk and the light on a winter's
day can be very poor. The Micro Light is attached to my gadgets necklace and is
a major aid to tying on a fly in poor light. The fishing necklace? A leather thong,
some wooden beads, line clippers, sinkant and flotant containers, forceps and
the Micro-Light. (Normally white light, but red if sea trout fishing at night).
Thank you for making my hobby more enlightened. -R. Cartwright, England
I
put a tiny piece of Velcro on the back, and stick them to my motorized wheelchair
to allow it to be seen at night. The turquoise one puts out a very brilliant,
radiant light that can be seen for thousands of feet. Little chance of being mowed
down by a car at night with Photon Micro Lights guiding the way. :) -C. Johnson
My
14 year old daughter sings "Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer" while sticking a red
Photon light up her nose. It's pretty funny. Your customers ought to try it. -J. D'Innocenzo
